7 Steps to finding Your Root Cause

DIS-EASE REALLY JUST MEANS THE BODY IS NOT AT EASE. CERTAIN BODILY PROCESSES CAN KEEP THE BODY OUT OF BALANCE UNTIL THE ROOT CAUSE(S) IS ADDRESSED.

Healing the body isn’t always simple, but it’s helpful to have a simple guide to direct you. When the body is imbalanced, whether it is experiencing mild, moderate or severe symptoms, it’s essential to find the triggers and causes that led to the current physical state.

Here are 7 steps to finding your root causes:

  1. Check for imbalanced digestion and nutrient depletions

  2. Assess your immune health and determine the presence and/or extent of any inflammation or infections

  3. Eliminate gluten from your diet for 2 weeks to 30 days (the longer, the better). If desired, gradually reintroduce it and listen to your body. It will show you how it responds now to gluten (you can use this approach with any allergen)

  4. Check your habits and how they may be affecting your adrenal health

  5. Possible triggers present? These can include stress, heredity and excessive consumption of sugar, gluten, dairy, soy, and caffeine.

  6. Do you have known food intolerances? In addition to gluten, think about the other common allergens you eat on a regular basis. Try the elimination diet to see how your body feels without them before possibly reintroducing them.

  7. Toxins! We all have them, but each of us has a different type and severity of toxic body burden. Detoxification, beginning with cleaning the colon, is vital to any regimen and when done properly, can even correct chronic conditions that stem from poor gut health.

As you do this work, think of them within the use of a framework that we’ll call your timeline. Your health timeline includes everything from birth (even before!) up to the present moment. You’ll likely be surprised at things you remember like early exposure to mold, an old tick bite, specific symptoms that magically appeared after childbirth, and so on. Have fun and dig in!

Once you have identified things that may be lurking in the background of your health, only then will you be able to put a health plan in place. If you don’t know where to start or what herb/supplement to buy, reach out to us for help.
